The Nicotine Myth

Our goal in starting Hornytoadvaping.com was to show others how we quit smoking and moved away from nicotine and onto a more pleasurable experience.  There's a lot of information out there about nicotine, and so many different opinions, so I'll be no different and offer mine here as well.

First of all, as a long time smoker I was convinced that nicotine was harmful to me.  What I've since found out that like a lot of things, the concentration of nicotine can indeed be harmful.  What really blew me away was that some of the foods my family consumed on a regular basis contained nicotine (i.e. bell peppers).  So what does this mean?  It means that nicotine, like milk or sugar or lemonade, can all be harmful in large doses.  You can now interpret that any way you wish, and the fact is that it will still be true.

I'm now more convinced than ever that nicotine is a substance that is HIGHLY addictive, and that probably provided the most difficult part of quitting smoking which was the constant cravings for nicotine.  Silly me, I thought it was the cigarette itself.

As I moved towards being a non-smoker, I realized that it was not only the nicotine I was addicted to, but the entire process on the whole.  I love the smoke, the inhale and exhale, and the taste was definitely an acquired taste that I came to depend on.

So, what now?
For me, I was on a journey to cut out nicotine (or my consumption of it) in its greatest form, my smoking experience.  I started at 20mg, and vaped that level for probably about two weeks until I moved to 18mg.  A week later I moved to 16mg, and so on and so on until I was indeed nicotine free.  Well, at least from my habit.

And then the most wonderful thing happened.  I realized I no longer craved any of it, and could sit back and relax with a myriad of flavored juices that simply enhanced my experience.
